ABOUT MATTY

Matty Conrad is recognized as one of the top men’s grooming experts in North America. After spending more than 15 years as a top hairstylist, creative platform artist, and successful salon owner his passion for technical haircutting and a strong admiration for his grandfather drove him to shift career paths and in 2010 he turned his focus towards barbering opening his first barbershop. Victory Barber & Brand was opened to critical acclaim and an avalanche of international press. It has been called one of Canada’s best barbershops by multiple publications and Conrad was named “Canadian barber of the year” and “Coolest Barber on Instagram” by GQ magazine. He has also been awarded several of the top honours for men’s hairdressing in North America including Canadian Men’s Hairstylist of the Year in 2014, Canadian Hairstylist of the Year Fan Favorite in 2015, and Behind The Chair’s coveted Big Shot Award for Men’s Shot of the Year 2015 & 2018.

Borrowing from both traditional barbering and modern men's hair styling, his own style of heritage barbering put him at the vanguard of men's grooming in North America He has been recognized globally as a pioneer of “New Market Barbering” and is regularly called on as a grooming expert for a multitude of trade and mainstream magazines and GQ’s YouTube channel currently with over 25 million views.

In 2017 Matty launched Victory Barber & Brand Products. A styling range designed for men that has gained substantial notoriety in men's grooming circles, used by celebrities, and have been lauded by some of the top men’s artists in the world. 

Matty’s unbridled enthusiasm for sharing his wisdom, experience, and passion for our industry has made him a mainstay in front of classrooms and industry show stages around the globe.
